Antonio Perez: Entanglement

Fall 2026 Art Exhibition

A solo exhibition of recent photographs and sculptures by LA-based artist Antonio Perez. Working in platinum-palladium printing and cast concrete—processes as physically demanding as the histories they hold—Perez draws on the idea of quantum entanglement to explore how people remain bound to one another across time and distance. Made in the wake of losing his father and brother within the same year, and shaped by his enduring admiration for his mother, this body of work channels a sensibility of rasquachismo to render grief as a form of connection rather than absence. Perez's images and sculptures speak to the particular bonds of one family while opening onto broader questions of home, inheritance, and how cultural ties endure.

  • Exhibition Dates: August 24 to September 25, 2026
  • Closing Reception & Artist Talk: Thursday, September 17, 3:30 – 4:30 pm in MVC Art Gallery, Student Services 217

The Place We Embody: Photographs by William Camargo and Diana Guerra

Fall 2026 Art Exhibition

This exhibition features work by photographers William Camargo and Diana Guerra, two artists who think deeply about materials, methods, and memory as they relate to history, family, place, labor, and identity. The archive is the starting point for each artist, both of whom make equal use of official and unofficial archives in their creative research. From there, Camargo and Guerra merge the histories of people and place alongside their own lived experiences to create bodies of work that expand the official record.

  • Exhibition Dates: October 12 – December 11 (closed week of Thanksgiving)
  • Artist Talk: Thursday, October 15, 10 – 11 am in Humanities 109
  • Opening Reception: Thursday, October 15, 12:30 – 2 pm in Student Services 217
