The college application process at MVC is simple, but varies based on a student's prior college experience. We've laid out step-by-step guides to walk students through the process of applying, sending in transcripts and more. Simply choose the type of student (new/first-time, returning, transferring, military/veteran) that best fits.

How to Apply to MVC

Financial Aid is designed to be used as a supplemental income for educational expenses and helps make college affordable. Financial aid encompasses direct aid through federal or state grants, loans, and scholarships. For most MVC students, state and federal aid cover the cost of tuition and loans should not be needed. Plus, scholarship opportunities are offered annually from Moreno Valley College, the Riverside Community College District Foundation, and from regional organizations. 

MVC also offers a Promise program that pays for the first year of college tuition. Your student may qualify.

MVC's career and transfer services include access to academic counselors to discover available career paths, jobs, internships, apprenticeships, educational directions and transfer opportunities. Students can tailor their education to their dream career or prepare for their ideal university program.

Schools and Engagement Centers

MVC's programs of study are organized into academic schools to better offer students an advising, counseling and support system tailored to their academic and career needs. Each school has a dedicated engagement center with a success team consisting of counselors, faculty and educational advisors, and more — all designed to keep you on track. All six of MVC's schools are ready to assist students with planning our their college experience, defining and setting realistic goals, and more.

Academic Support

MVC Lions are entitled to free academic support for the entirety of their enrollment. From two hours of free tutoring per week per course to essay writing and mathematics assistance, we strive to ensure students have the assistance they need to succeed in classes.

Associated Students of Moreno Valley College (ASMVC)

ASMVC represents student organizations, activities and government on campus. Comprised of students, these leaders advocate for student needs on campus, plan exciting activities, lead clubs, and participate in campus governance to ensure that no student goes unheard. ASMVC is entirely student-funded and any student can get involved.

There are approximately twenty clubs and organizations representing a wide variety of academic and career pursuits, as well as special interests. Enrolled students with paid student services fees (which ensures clubs have the funds to function) are able to participate and benefit from club involvement.

Hungry? Stop by the Lion's Den and Coffee Cub. Offerings include freshly prepared meals, vegetarian and vegan options, grab and go fare, snacks, drinks, artisan coffee, baked-daily pastries and cookies, and more. 

Campus Bookstore

On campus or online, the MVC Bookstore is the place to buy essentials like technology, MVC merchandise, textbooks, graduation regalia and more.

Library

From textbook borrowing, access to information databases, copying and printing services, computers, study rooms, laptop and hotspot loans, and more, the MVC Library has services and resources to help students complete their studies affordably.

Parking and Transportation

Parking MVC is similar to parking in any busy metropolitan or downtown area. We offer a mix of student and employee permit parking, pay-by-hour, and limited short-term visitor parking. Fees collected from permits help maintain our parking lots and campus safety services. All students and visitors are expected to follow parking rules.

MyPortal

MyPortal offers students a one-stop location for enrollment, purchasing parking permits, accessing college transcripts and more. 

EduNav

EduNav allows students to plan and register for all courses in a guided, intuitive system personalized to their needs and preferences. Plus, EduNav helps students visualize their pathway to graduation, term by term - and understand how any changes to their plan affect their college completion timeline.

Student Email

Every MVC student receives a student email address after registration. College communications come through student email only.

Canvas

Most classes post lecture resources, notes, discussion assignments and assignments online in Canvas, MVC's chosen learning management system.

Health and Wellness

MVC strives to address all dimensions of wellness, including physical, intellectual, emotional, social, spiritual, environmental, occupational and financial. Students receive on-campus preventative health care, free mental health counseling, interactive wellness workshops, referrals to local services, and more.

Campus Safety

MVC's campus safety is ensured by the Riverside Community College District (RCCD) Safety and Police Department. RCCD Police is a POST-certified agency.
