How to Apply

Current high school students have a unique opportunity to get a head start on their college education through our concurrent enrollment, dual enrollment and Middle College High School programs.

  • 1

Decide which high school education program is best for you

Current high school students can choose between three programs, based upon eligibility: concurrent enrollment (self-guided), dual enrollment (classes taken online or at your high school), or the Middle College High School program (classes taken at MVC). Qualifications and eligibility requirements vary.
    More information
All programs that allow high school students to attend classes at MVC require parent/guardian permission. In some cases, programs are limited to students from individual schools or school districts, and may also require permission from school administrators.
  • 2

    Complete your college application

The MVC application is free, quick and easy. You will receive emails with registration information and instructions within two to three business days.
  • 3

    Submit any important paperwork

If part of the concurrent enrollment program, submit your approval form, registration packet and any other proof of eligibility to Admissions & Records. If part of the Middle College program, application and approval is handled during the program enrollment process.
  • 4

Activate your email and complete orientation

Once accepted, you will receive an email with your new student ID number and instructions on how to activate your student email. Your student email is where MVC sends important information and correspondence. Once your email is activated, complete your college orientation online or in-person.
  • 5

    Register for classes

For the best selection of classes, review your options in the class schedule and register in MyPortal as soon as possible. You may register on or after your registration appointment.
    Limitations
Concurrent enrollment students will have the option to register for classes on the first day of each term in order to ensure that they do not displace regularly admitted students. Meanwhile, Middle College High School program students take a predefined series of courses.
  • 6

    Pay fees

High school students are not required to pay enrollment fees but are responsible for a Health Fee and a Student Services Fee for every term attended. If needed, you may also purchase a parking permit.
