Catering on Campus
Welcome to Moreno Valley College's catering services. Food Services provides an innovative, high quality culinary experience tailored to your needs and preferences. We are here to assist in making your event a success!
The Lion's Den Catering Menu and a quote form is available in a convenient Excel file. Review the items, and price out your order using the quote sheet. Your totals will be filled in automatically as soon as you select your desired item from the drop-down and enter your quantity.
Catering options are not limited to the menu. Request custom dishes by reaching out to catering@mvc.edu.
Beginning April 1, 2026, departments will be responsible for entering their catering orders directly into the Galaxy Business system. Please follow catering procedures to ensure timely processing:
- Plan Ahead:
- 72 Hours Advance Notice Required: Catering orders must be submitted no later than 72 hours prior to the event to allow adequate time for food preparation.
- Ensure Room/Space Availability: Confirm room/space availability through Facilities and 25Live prior to issuing a catering request. For facilities questions, contact the facilities utilization coordinator.
- Review Menu and Submit Catering Request Form: Use the Catering Request spreadsheet to generate a quote based on your selected menu items. You may use the drop-downs and quantities to price out your desired menu. Once done, save the document and email it to catering@mvc.edu.
- Catering Order Review and Confirmation: Food Services will review your request and confirm fulfillment by issuing you an “E Number.”
- Enter Requisition in Galaxy: After verifying budget availability, the requester must submit an internal requisition
in Galaxy.
- Attach the two documents to the requisition: Lion’s Den catering quote including the assigned E Number, and an event flyer or announcement to support and justify the business purpose.
- A step-by-step guide to entering the requisition is available.
- Provide Requisition Number to Food Services: Once the requisition is created, share the requisition number with Food Services to ensure payment.
- Keep RCCD Policies in Mind: AP 5700 and AP 5907 outline allowable use of District funds for meals, refreshments, and catering. Catering expenditures must comply, including proper justification and complete documentation, use of appropriate and approved funding sources, and alignment with operational needs.

Catering options are not limited to the menu. Food Services would be pleased to create custom dishes for your event. From smothered chicken to chilaquiles, we hope to make your event unforgettable. Please reach out to catering@mvc.edu to customize your event's menu.
Using Outside Vendors
Food Services has right of first refusal for all events requiring catering. In situations where an outside vendor will be serving food on campus, the requesting organization or department must fill out the Request for Food Authorization packet. All requests must be approved in advance. This form is relevant for student organizations, programs and services, outside vendors, and so on.

Use of RCCD Funds
Administrative Policies 5700 Use of Facilities and 5907 District-Paid Meals and Refreshments outline the allowable use of Riverside Community College District funds for meals, refreshments, and catering. All catering expenditures must comply with these policy requirements, including:
- Proper justification and complete documentation
- Use of appropriate and approved funding sources
- Alignment with District and college operational needs
