Puente Program Outcomes
The mission of the Puente Program at Moreno Valley College is to increase the number of educationally underrepresented students who enroll in four-year colleges and universities, earn degrees, and return to the community as leaders and mentors of future generations.
Moreno Valley College Puente Program Retention Rate
2016-2017 Student Retention Rate:
Students completed English 1A in 6 weeks at the beginning of the spring semester and there was 100 % student retention and completion rate from English 1A to English 1B during spring 2017.
2015-2016 Student Retention Rate:
The Puente Program had 95% student retention rate from the fall semester to winter session. Student retention rate from winter to the spring semester was also 95% retention.
*Student success scorecard college completion outcome is defined as the percentage of first-time students with a minimum of 6 units earned who attempted any math or English in the first three years and achieved any of the following outcomes within six years of entry: 1) Earned AA/AS or Certificate 2) Transfer to four-year institution 3) *Achieved "Transfer Prepared" Status (student successfully completed 60 UC/CSU transferable units with a GPA >= 2.0).
