Digital Textbooks

COVID-19 Notices and Information | Distance Ed/Online Classes Information

Borrowing physical textbooks from the MVC Library is currently unavailable, which may make textbooks difficult to find. However, your textbooks may be available in convenient digital formats.

In response to schools going online, many publishers have made numerous digital textbooks available to both students and instructors for free.

Cengage Learning

Cengage is offering free access to their Cengage Unlimited service. Cengage Unlimited consists of digital learning platforms (like Mindtap), 14,000+ ebooks (including many etextbooks), and their app. This access is for both faculty and students. Access is valid through the rest of the spring semester.

Redshelf and VitalSource

Publishers have made a selection of textbooks available to students and instructors. Follow the MVC Library's instructions to check out up to 7 digital textbooks through Redshelf, VitalSource, or via one of their apps until May 25.

Both platforms require registration, which should take 5-10 minutes. The MVC Library has also prepared a compehensive list of textbooks available online, as well as where they can be accessed.

Please note that all late fees for materials currently checked out from the MVC Library will be waived if accumulated during the suspension of in-person classes.
