Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, classes at Moreno Valley College are offered in an online format. We realize this is a challenging time. MVC faculty, staff and administration are committed to the successful completion of your classes and keeping your academic career on track.

Moreno Valley College and all colleges in the Riverside Community College District have shifted to online learning. To assist with and ensure your academic success, take advantage of the various resources available to students in a remote/online format.

All RCCD colleges are shifting instruction online. For a list of digital faculty resources and information you can share with students, visit the faculty online resources page.

 

General Student Services and Support

Below you'll find a list of student services programs with online resources and services designed to help students learning in a remote format. For a full list of all student support services, visit the Student Services page.

Student Services Services and Information
Admissions & Records
  • Contact: Send an email to admissions@mvc.edu. Include a copy of a valid photo ID for faster service.
  • Web Advisor, MyPortal, Canvas, email password help and all questions: contact admissions@mvc.edu
  • Transcript requests: see transcript ordering instructions.
  • Forms: complete online and submit with your student email. Include a copy of a valid photo ID for faster service.
  • Dropping classes: Students who need to withdraw from one or all classes for any COVID-19 related reason including the shift to online coursework may email that request to admissions@mvc.edu with the reason and a picture of one's student ID to be withdrawn.

Food Pantry and Meal Assistance
  • Grab-and-go bags are available to students who find themselves food insecure. Bags are limited. Items will be distributed first-come, first-serve.
  • Riverside County offers food and meal support through county food banks and EBT.

Laptop Loans
  • To support the transition to online teaching this semester, each college allowed enrolled students the ability to checkout a laptop. Laptops will be released on a first-come, first-serve basis. There is no cost to students. A valid photo ID is required. Distribution has concluded as of March 23, but visit the Laptop Loans page to request notice if any stock becomes available.

Learning Resource Center
  • Learning Resource Center: Access to tutoring, writing and reading support, mathetmatics assistance, computer and technology course help, and more.
Library and Digital Resources

  • The MVC Library's digital resources, catalogs, e-books, and databases are accessible to enrolled students online. Get course help by exploring the Library website.
  • Chat with a librarian: Students can chat with a librarian on the Library's homepage.
  • Late Fees: Late fees during this period will be waived if students are unable to return items.
  • Digital Textbooks: Your textbooks may be available online, for free.
  • Learning Resource Center: Access to tutoring, writing and reading support, mathetmatics assistance, computer and technology course help, and more.
New Student Orientation and Enrollment

  • Middle College students and parents/guardian, please continue checking both the Moreno Valley College and your student's school district website, as well as emails and phone calls, for the most current information on school closures. You can also email the MCHS program if you have other questions.
Puente
  • Contact: Call (951) 571-6904 or email a puente coordinator to set up a counseling appointment or questions.
  • Counseling appointments/workshops will be conducted using Zoom online. To schedule an appointment, contact the Puente program.
STEM Program
Student Employment
  • Contact: Angela.Rios@mvc.edu
  • Direct deposit will continue as normal for student workers. Student workers who receive paper paychecks will have their check mailed to the home address currently listed in the Student Employment file. Students will be paid through March 30. If you need to update your mailing address, contact your college's Student Employment office.
TRIO/ACES
  • Contact: ACESSS@mvc.edu or leave a voicemail at (951) 571-6275 for a response within 24 hours. For immediate assistance, call (951) 233-3719.
  • Counseling: Appointments/workshops will be conducted online via Zoom or by phone. You may meet with a counselor via Zoom by clicking on the link below during the scheduled day and time. Zoom may be accessed using PC, Mac, Linux, iOS or Android.
  • Tutoring services: ACES tutors will be available via Zoom sessions in the coming days. Utilize online tutoring through NetTutor in the mean time.
Umoja Community
Veterans Services

  • Education Service is preparing guidance for colleges that have changes in training modalities and operation statuses due to COVID-19. If enacted, legislation will alleviate the impact to GI Bill beneficiaries for a switch to pursuit solely through distance education. In order to avoid confusion and the need to make multiple changes to enrollments, VA is asking colleges to temporarily refrain from making any adjustments to enrollment certifications if training has changed due to COVID-19.
