Moreno Valley College recently celebrated a milestone in its partnership with Orange Vista High School, as 24 students successfully completed the college’s dual enrollment Fire Technology program.

Led by Public Safety Academy Director Wayne Clemons — an active-duty fire chief and full-time instructor — the program gives high school students early access to fire service training and college-level coursework. The graduating cohort completed Fire Technology courses one through four, earning 12 college credits while still enrolled in high school.

These four courses form the foundation of MVC’s Fire Technology curriculum, offering essential knowledge in fire service principles and operations. Completion of the sequence puts students four steps closer to an associate degree in fire technology at Moreno Valley College.

The collaboration reflects MVC’s commitment to building early pathways into public safety careers and equipping local youth with valuable skills and college credit before high school graduation.

Moreno Valley College continues to expand its efforts to prepare students for careers in high-demand industries through innovative partnerships, dual enrollment programs, and hands-on career education.
