
Stephen Brown, Ed.D.
About
Dr. Stephen Brown comes to Moreno Valley College after serving as the Student Conduct Administrator at California State University, Chico. He brings over 20 years of higher experience with almost 15 years of serving in student services programming.
A social worker by profession, he served as Associate Professor of Social Work/ Dean of Student Development at California Baptist University. He moved to a CalWORKs Program directorship at Mt. San Antonio College, after having taught masters-level social work courses at Azusa Pacific University and California State University, Los Angeles, and undergraduate courses at Chapman University. Dr. Brown has extensive experience in the areas of student conduct, restorative justice, student retention, as well as student equity. Dr. Brown has served as a presenter/panelist at several conferences through research he conducted dealing with the issue of African American and Latino male achievement, the digital divide, student athlete success, as well as graduation/ retention for students of color.
A former student athlete, Dr. Brown holds a Doctor of Education Organizational Leadership from the University of La Verne, and a Master of Social Work Degree, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Jackson State University
