ATHENA Scholarship and Leadership Program

The ATHENA Scholarship and ATHENA Student Leadership Program offer oustanding Moreno Valley College students opportunities to build leadership skills and celebrate academic success and responsible citizenship. Eligibility requirements are listed below.


ATHENA Scholarship

The mission of the ATHENA of the Inland Valley is to open doors of leadership opportunity for WOMEN through inspiration, education, cultivation, and mentoring. The Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce is pleased to announce the availability of an ATHENA scholarship of $1,000 to each of its higher learning institutions, for any undergraduate or graduate college student.

The ATHENA Scholarship is an opportunity open to female Moreno Valley College Students with an outstanding record of community service for the current academic year. The ATHENA Scholarship is designed to reward female students who demonstrate strong leadership qualities, are academically successful, and have a commitment to volunteerism through the college or a communtiy service group.

The ATHENA Scholarship is only offered in the spring term.


ATHENA Student Leadership Program

The ATHENA Student Leadership Program is designed to assist students in developing leadership and career related skills. With a goal of preparing students for leadership in higher education and beyond, the ATHENA Student Leadership Program aims to enhance and strengthen "transferable skills." The Program provides a foundation for students to become confident, aware, and engaged citizens facilitating academic success, civic responsibility, and the opportunity for achieving career goals. The application and program are open to all students, male and female.

The ATHENA Student Leadership Program is only offered in the fall term.
