Welcome to remote and online resources for MVC employees. Below you'll find information on the services available to you when working remotely, along with basic tutorials and instructions.

Faculty and Staff Only: Online/Remote Technology Support

For technology-related requests, please continue submitting work orders via one of the following:

Tickets will be routed to the appropriate department for service (i.e. many services are provided by District IT, while others from MVC TSS). Following this established process district-wide, makes sure you will receive faster service. Once your request gets received, someone will contact you via email; please check your email often.

VDI: Virtual Desktop Infrastructure

Virtual Desktop, or VDI, allows you to securely access the District's internal applications and resources via a web browser on any device, even personal devices. VDI uses any web browser to open/run a Windows computer inside our network.

VDI-accessible information and programs include departmental file shares, Galaxy, Colleague(Datatel)/UIWeb, OnBase, and SARS.

VPN: Virtual Private Network

RCCD's virtual private network, or VPN, solution allows employees to connect a physical computer onto our network. For security, VPN access is subject to approval and can only be utilized on District- and College-owned hardware. Using a virtual desktop, or VDI, detailed above, is the recommended and secured way to connect.


Zoom: Online Meetings

Zoom is an online meeting service provided to all employees of the California Community Colleges by the CCC Confer project. Connections are Java-free, and support all operating systems and browsers, including mobile devices. Learn more about Zoom, tutorials on how to use it, and technical support.
