I started my career in education as a substitute classroom assistant and then became a high school English teacher. After several years teaching high school, I started teaching at Moreno Valley College. I teach first year writing and love working with students to support their reading and writing practices. I have facilitated an oral history project that brought together middle school, high school, and MVC educators, and have researched and presented on cross-sectoral collaborations and grading practices.
When I am not teaching, I spend time with my family and friends, enjoy reading comics and books, and find drought-tolerant and pollinator plants to include in my home garden.
